Fake It Till You Make It
Written by Clint Maher on April 20, 2009 – 6:15 am -One of my mentors, Kurek Ashley, suggests that you fake it till you make it, and this has been a strategy that I
had used earlier in my life to good effect. What I mean by this, is that in your head you have to believe you are already are where you want to be. Now this can be for financial, spiritual, health or relationship goals.
A lot of us have goals and we visualise and affirm things too, yet look closely at how you state your intentions. Do you write down a goal such as, I will make $200,000 this year by being an entrepreneur . In your subconscious, you have not achieved this yet and it will be an uphill battle to reach you goal. Just by changing some wording in your goals, you can give your subconscious a boost.
The Power Of I Am
Whatever it is you want, or you want to be, start telling yourself that you have already got it or achieved it. This can be used for any goal or target that you have. Here are some examples below on how you could state your goals that will have a marked difference on the outcome:
- I am a successful entrepreneur and made an extra $200,000 this year while having a great time on the Internet.
- I am my goal weight of 80kg and I look great and have tonnes of energy.
- I am a loving spouse and have an extraordinarily great relationship with my children.
- I am a powerful contact and my peers look me up and ask me to do business with them.
Our words are so powerful that we have the power to trick our subconscious so that we can move towards our goals at a much faster pace than normal. As with any goal, it works a lot better if you can visualise and feel this when you state your goals, and of course, it will work so much better if you can do this on a daily basis. For myself, I like to do this first thing when I wake up in the morning and get my day off to a flying start.
I urge you to try this strategy, and let me know if it makes a difference to your life. I was very surprised at how quickly things began to change in my life once I modified my goals to include ‘I am’ in them. Thanks goes out to Kurek Ashley for passing on this amazing mindset strategy that has got me going a lot faster to where I want to go.

Kurek Ashley
Written by Clint Maher on April 2, 2009 – 1:29 am -A Meeting With Kurek Ashley
This last weekend on my visit to Brisbane with my Australian Internet Marketing buddies, I had the awesome pleasure of meeting one of my mentors, Kurek Ashley. Kurek is what can only be described as an inspiration, and others call him a Peak Performance Coach. I was first introduced to the teachings of Kurek by another mentor of mine, Sean Rasmussen. Reading Kurek’s book last year, ‘How Would Love Respond’, was a turning point in my life, and since then I have waited in anticipation of meeting the man in person.
So you may ask what is so special about Kurek Ashley. Well, nothing, and everything. A contradiction yet if you meet the guy you will know exactly what I mean. His background and past is filled with highs and lows, just like most of us. He does appear to have been the same genuine guy his entire life though, and that stands out when you hear his story. He is not a motivational speaker in the sense, where you get super hyped up for a few days and then slowly yet surely you lose that motivation and go back to your old ways. Instead, Kurek can give you the knowledge and tools to be (in his words) a source of light that attracts more and more life to you.
Kurek Ashley On Participation
The words that come from the mouth of Kurek Ashley are exceptional, and so unique too. He did not invent this stuff mind you, he just puts his unique twist on it that makes it so special. In my mind, his message comes down to a few things, with the major one that stood out to me is participation. In our life we simply must participate to get the most out of life. The more we participate, the more we get. He also spoke about light being the source of all life, and that we are the source of light ourselves.
I want to spend some more time in the future talking about how Kurek Ashley and his best selling book has made many positive influences on my life, and how I put into action some of the ideas he has given me.

A Great Night Out With “The Vocal Chameleon” Paul Lines
Written by Clint Maher on March 31, 2009 – 1:15 pm -Fun In Brisvagas (Brisbane, Australia)
A little off topic this time (again), yet there are times in our life that we get caught up in thick of it all and for get to actually get out and enjoy ourselves. Over the weekend I caught up with a group of very special friends from Smart Online Profit Systems and spent two days not just learning great information, yet strengthening some awesome friendships too. The greatest fun came though, on the Sunday evening where we spent a couple of hours on a boat cruise on the Brisbane River having a BBQ and just kicking Back. It was following this cruise, that we met Paul Lines, also known as ‘The Vocal Chameleon‘.

After the cruise several of our group headed off to the Brisbane Casino to catch a few more drinks and see what the night had on offer. One of my close mates, Scotty Smith, heard a band playing out in one of the back bars and being the passionate musician that he is, dragged the rest of us to have a listen.I think we walked in when the band was playing an old Daryl Braithwaite song, and you could be forgiven to think that the guy up on stage singing was Daryl himself. The thing is, with each and every song after that no mater who the artist they were covering, the lead singer would change his voice to match the original song and the resemblance was just uncanny. Whether it was Jimmy Barnes, Jeff Buckley, Keith Urban, Daniel Johns and even the final song of the night, Tina Turner, you could just close you eyes and think you were listening to the real artist.
The Vocal Chameleon
During the bands break, we had the good fortune to have a chat to the lead singer and get a bit of a story about him. The band we then found out was ‘The Paul Lines Trio’, and when we commented on his changing voice, Paul said that he is sometimes known as The Vocal Chameleon, a fitting description if I have ever heard one. When we started chatting I picked up a strong Kiwi accent and upon asking was told no he was not a Kiwi, he just did a Neil Finn cover gig the night before and had just immersed himself in the role, and had just forgot to unimmerse himself.
The Paul Lines Trio
If you are ever in Queensland Australia and you get a chance to see The Vocal Chameleon (The Paul Lines Trio), then get along and have a great night out, you won’t regret it. The band members are as follows:
Lead Singer: Paul Lines
Bass: Paul Willy Illmer
Drums: Gavin Dunwoodie
My Point Of This Article
So often we forget to have fun in our lives, and it becomes easier to get caught up in the daily grind. I began to stop going out and enjoying myself a couple of years ago when I was focusing on quitting my job so I could become a full time Internet Marketer. In the process I lost some social contact and it was easier to stay home of an evening or a weekend and do another blog post or spend time on Digg or Twitter. That one night out of fun inspired me so much and many new ideas and possibilities came to me, simple because I was being playful and was away from my work environment. I owe it to myself to have a lot more fun and that is exactly what I plan to do from now on.
The people who I went out with know who you are, and I want to thank you for having one of the best nights I have had in years. Above all, I just want to give kudos once more to Paul Lines, The Vocal Chameleon.

Assumption Is Not Reality
Written by Clint Maher on March 12, 2009 – 8:20 am -A little off tangent today, yet a good lesson for the mindset can be had if you read on. I want to talk about how we assume things, and how we think our assumptions are reality. Assumptions are anything but fact, they are only what your mind wants to believe.
Now we all say that we should never assume, yet we still manage to do it on a daily and probably even many times per day. So why is that? Why does our brain try and give us an answer to something that we do not know is factual? As humans we have a need of certainty in our lives, and we would rather make something up to fit in with our current line of thinking than be in the unpleasant unknown.
We assume things about ourselves, about our partners, family, friends, and business colleagues. We assume about how we got on this earth, and we assume what will happen to us after our time is up. We just want certainty in our lives.
Assumption is a disempowering habit, and I am as guilty as the next person in partaking in the practice. Like anything to do with the mindset, you have to be aware of what you are doing before you can make the changes to reprogram your mind. This is a particularly tricky part of the mindset to master, as uncertainty puts us out of our comfort zone.
We must not assume anything and even when we think something to be fact, you must question the reliability of the source. The world used to be flat you know, and people believed that was fact. Who’s to say evolution is fact, or even global warming? A touchy subject, although I just want you to know what is so obviously fact, is many times not.
On a smaller scale we assume things in our interactions with other people, and taking second and third hand information and coming up with our own ‘facts’ to create something that is not. This is prevalent in insecure relationships and in workplaces mixed in with a dose of politics for good measure.
So what is the moral to my story today you may ask. Go out and be a searcher of the truth, and if you can not get the truth, then don’t form an opinion.
